February 17-26, 2011

Produced by the Collierville Arts Council.
The Elephant Man is the stage adaptation of the life story of Joseph Merrick (often incorrectly referred to as John) and his inspirational triumph over physical deformities that made him a circus attraction and a man of little hope. Merrick's inspiring story takes us from the circus sideshows into London society during the Victorian Era. The Elephant Man opened on Broadway in 1979, winning three Tony Awards. The play, written by American Playwright Bernard Pomerance, was reprised in 2002 on Broadway and also produced as a major motion picture and television drama. We are proud to bring the story of Joseph Merrick to the Harrell Stage.

We also look forward to continuing our recently started series of concerts at the Harrell. So far, we have featured a world-renown bluegrass group, Donna Ulisse and the Poor Mountian Boys as well as two on Nashville's top songwriters, Wynn Varble and David Lee. Soon, we will be hosting a top-notch jazz concert and will be announcing other upcoming concerts.
Make plans now to come to the Harrell in February for The Elephant Man and check back on the website to learn more about upcoming events!
